In partnership with the City of Troutdale, the Sandy Drainage Improvement Company (SDIC) is developing a Drainage Master Plan to guide future capital projects and drainage priorities over the next 10-15 years. The plan will evaluate the condition of pipes, drainage ditches, and pump stations that collect and direct rain water in order to identify areas that need improvement and prioritize future investments to better prevent and manage flooding for communities in this area. The plan will also include recommendations related to the operation and maintenance of pipes and ditches, upgrades to the SDIC pump station, construction of new and replacement infrastructure, and opportunities to improve stormwater quality. Management of the levee system is not included in this planning effort.
Opportunities for public engagement and outreach have been a priority throughout the planning process. We anticipate the Drainage Master Plan to be completed by the end of Summer 2020, with presentations being promoted by both the City of Troutdale and SDIC.
